Mechinat Elisha' is Asking for Your Support!
The memory of the fires engulfed Israel 2 months ago is still fresh.
In just a few days, more than 1700 fires consumed hundreds homes, thousands acres
of forest, leaving a few thousand people homeless. Some of these fire were nationalistically motivated.

One of the communities severely damaged is Neve-Tsuf-Halamish.

This larger Neve-Tsuf community incorporates Mechinat Elisha, a pre-IDF Yeshiva program, in which Asaf Gadasi, our community member, is a Gap Year student.

The Mechina students, boys ages 17-19, were among the very first to assist Neve-Tsuf in the aftermath of the fires.
But the students want to do more.
With the blessing of the residents of Neve-Tsuf-Halamish the students decided to fund raise 50,000 shekels ($12,500) with which to built a Flag Memorial Square at the entrance
of the Mechina to increase security.

The flag will be erected in memory of Mechina student, Eliyahu Asheri z"l.
Remaining funds will be allocated to the community's needs.

The Mechina Students Appeal Letter:
"We are students of Mechinat Elisha, a pre-IDF Yeshiva program, who are located in the hills of the Binyamin region adjacent to Neve Tsuf-Halamish, 20 minutes from Modi’in. As a Mechina we pride ourselves on being Zionists who love the country, the army and the land of Israel.
We ask your help in funding the erection of a Flag Memorial Square 
at the entrance of the Yeshiva.

On Sunday, June 25th 2006, Eliyahu Asheri, a student of the Mechinat Elisha, was kidnapped and murdered at the hands of terrorists on his way to the Mechina. The captured terrorists told their investigators that Eliyahu’s last request was a cup of water. Eliyahu asked for this cup of water so he could bless "שהכל נהיה בדברו". 
On Friday night, the eve of shabbat, November 25th 2016, 3 arsonists terrorized
Neve Tsuf-Halamish by setting the forest ablaze leading to 20 houses burnt to the ground and 30 houses left in horrible condition.

The arsonists were arrested and are currently under trial.
We the students of Elisha couldn't stand idly watching the fires devastate our community. Now, we are calling upon the friends of the Jewish people at home and abroad to participate in erecting Flag Memorial Square.
The square, will include a flag mast and commemorative stone.
We want to raise this flag to increase the security of our community, to elevate the morale of our students, to shine light upon the true way of the Israeli nation, and to honor the memory of Eliyahu Asheri, zikhro livrakha.
